Flower Girl is a womenswear line designed for the Fall 2017 MODA Fashion Show at Western Michigan University. This was my first college-level collection; I made 3/4 of the pieces during my first semester as a freshmen at Western. I had already designed and made my prom dress (far left) that previous spring, so I decided to make a bright, feminine, and very pink collection to match.
DETAILS
- Staying true to my design philosophy, I used only secondhand fabrics to create this line.
- I cut each fabric flower out by hand & hand-sewed them on the dress & tank top (I did use an existing tank top as the base for the floral top, and covered the entire thing with the fabric flowers).
- The black off-the-shoulder piece below actually wasn't part of the collection, but I made it around this time and felt like it fit this design aesthetic!
